The Manufacturing Technology Department was established in 1992 by training technicians at a certificate level. In 1995 the department started a three years advanced diploma program in metal technology. In order to bridge the gap between
the actual needs and the future requirements of companies engaged in the manufacturing activities, the department revised and upgraded its training program to train Manufacturing Technologists at a degree level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manufacturing Technology Program in ATTC is designed to prepare pragmatic manufacturing technologists who will put their technical education in solving real-world manufacturing problems, and respond aggressively to the changing needs
of the local and global marketplace, apply advanced skills and knowledge in the development of marketable products and efficient processes, and design with an awareness of the realities of manufacturing and the needs of society.
This preparation is enhanced through the extensive hands-on workshop, and laboratory learning experiences. Since manufacturing technology is an interdisciplinary field, the proposed program gives emphasis encompassing a broad range of areas including materials, design, manufacturing, automation, and systems and control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the objective of this degree program in manufacturing technology is to train students through a flexible program that allows students to study several areas including, manufacturing processes, design for manufacture and assembly, maintenance, materials – product development, manufacturing management, quality assurance and control and etc. for the rapidly growing manufacturing sector of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
